“Liminal space, the place of waiting, is a unique spiritual position where human beings hate to be but where the Biblical God is always leading them… All transformation takes place here. The threshold is God’s waiting room. Here we are taught openness and patience as we come to expect an appointment with the divine Doctor.”  Richard Rohr

As we enter May the world finds itself in a collective liminal space. Though we all share in this particular liminal space together we all experience it differently. We have different uncertainties, decision points, obstacles, obligations, anxieties, griefs, and fears. We have different support and belief structures to aid us in this time. So be kind. Regardless of where you are spiritually, physically, or emotionally know that you are not alone. God is always with you, the Holy Spirit is always in you, and God’s love is always surrounding us. Know that you are loved. As we move into a new normal with some returning to work, others staying home, and many unsure, remember to show grace to yourself, grace to your neighbor, and grace to strangers. Intentionally be easy on yourself, be kind to yourself, and show love to yourself. Then let it flow out from there.

Contemplate Lincoln’s physical location will remain closed for the month of May. But we are still here for you. Connect in spiritual community through any of our virtual offerings this month. Once some of us can gather again in person we will continue to have virtual groups for those of us who will continue to practice physical distancing.

May 1 marks that start of Give to Lincoln which runs through May 28th. More than 98% of our operational budget comes from individual donations like yours. Consider donating and supporting Contemplate Lincoln. Link at the bottom of the page.

The results are in and the survey showed the most interest in Richard Rohr’s forthcoming book The Wisdom Pattern: Order, Disorder, Reorder. A book very fitting for the time. We are looking at a few different times for groups so please express your interest for this 6 week study and your availability below. RSVP >>
